Description:
The rota-rod treadmill from Med Associates is designed to accurately measure motor coordination and fatigue. It consists of a computer-controlled stepper motor-driven drum with constant speed or accelerating speed modes of operation. For mice it is divided into five test zones so that up to five animals may be tested at the same time. The selectable fixed speeds are 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 rpm. The selectable accelerating speeds are 2.0~20, 2.5~25, 3.0~30, 3.5~35 and 4.0~40 rpm. When the animal falls off the rotating drum, it breaks a photobeam to automatically record the amount of time spent on the drum.
