Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan, and did his postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zhao joined Fudan University in 2009. The focus of his research is ischemic stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage. The group studies the relationships of neurovascular components to neurons after brain injury and self-repair using a combination of animal models, cellular, molecular and biological approaches.
